I thought I heard your name
Only for it to be from a passing train
But I knew to look back at you
Wearing blue at 6th avenue
I knew you were there
At the station, paying your fare
I knew you had to go
I’ve known since so long ago
How could either of us forget
The pieces of us that we forfeit
For the love we had for each other
As we endured the crashing thunder
I brushed the tears off your eyes
And told you sweet silly lies
That we will meet someday
That everything will be okay
I couldn’t have you at all
A fate I’d never thought I chose
As I watched you, in the concert hall
The smallest sounds, leave the clearest echoes
Author’s Note:
Many people fall into emotional states after various types of late night text. This could be a break up text, the aftermath of an emotional outburst on someone you care for, or facing a goodbye text none of us know how to properly handle. I have been in all of these situations at various times of life, and I wish to share the experience while being vague. Through being vague more people can relate with things that happened in their life that led to the same situation.
