“I feel,”
A phrase we say without realizing how much weight it actually carries.
It’s what we say when we’re trying to explain something we don’t fully understand yet—
whether it’s pain, joy, confusion, or just personal thought.
Emotions are more than reactions;
they’re signals from inside us, shaped by what’s going on around us,
what’s been done to us, and who we’re becoming.
And even when two people say they feel the same thing,
It still varies in experience.
Because emotions don’t copy and paste.
They pass through who you are—
your memories, your energy, your past.
So even if it’s all called “sad,” “angry,” “happy,” or “numb,”
it’s never exactly the same.
That’s the interesting part.
You can feel what someone else feels and still be on a whole different level.Because your “I feel”
isn’t just a feeling;
it’s you, figuring it out.
Author’s Note:
I saw this post showing a collage of the word “I feel” and that sparked my interest, so I decided to write about it and what that quote meant to me and what it is.
