When I look outside
Everything is on fire
All the trees dressed in red attire
I weep as I try to take the fire out
The woods creak instead of sway
The trees turning paler each passing day
I watch still and silent
As the trees crumble to the ground
Dreams that will never be found
Even though I try my best
The bushes still burn
Asking for no award in return
Next spring, I come back to the forest
I see every sapling has flourished
The birds are no longer malnourished
Animals throw a cheerful parade
Saying,”These trees did not die in vain!”
“The dreams are here to stay”
“No one can ever take that away”
Author’s Note:
By using figurative language, I have created a poem that represents the ups and downs of life. I use the resilience of nature to show that when your dreams fail, you can always recover and find new dreams.
